ITALY! Tips and Recommendations
While I was enjoying the sights (and by this, I mean the sights of various cocktails accompanied by the sights of some of the most beautiful places I have seen thus far in my life!) on my trip to Italy, I thought- wow there are some things I wish I knew prior going to this spectacular country. So, on occasion when I was inclined; and of right mind and body…I took some notes for anyone reading this thinking of visiting. YOU’RE WELCOME! Here you go-enjoy:
Rome
STAY: WHotel Rome
W Rome – Live Eternal | Hotel di Lusso a Roma (marriott.com)
What we loved-Rooftop chill pool. Great service (Stefano-Grazi!) small pool, but intimate and good chill music and go have some pizza for dinner on the other side of roof-Cool sunset facing the old Swiss Embassy. Loved the lounge too-2 for 1 happy hour for Bonvoy members so get ya some of that. Great location by one of the most romantic restaurants ever.
EAT: Mirabelle
Mirabelle Restaurant Official Website in Rome: Book your Dinner in Rome.
Probably one of the most romantic restaurants I have been to date in a city setting-GO HERE
DRINK: Go get a cocktail and check out these EPIC hotel bars, both close to The Spanish Steps…

Transportation to Capri-
Take the train from Rome to Naples, grab a cab at train station (if there is a huge line, look for a cab in the middle lane close to a turn he/she can reverse and skip the line..or in our case he just ran over some sort of sidewalk to get on the road…get ready for an interesting ride to say the least!!) should be about 15-20 minutes to ferry terminal-there happened to be some sort of strike/demonstration so maybe pad your ferry time to 60-90 minutes to be safe. Ferry can be rough, throw back some Dramamine or wear those bracelet things if you tend to get seasick…we had lots of wind and some wave action.
Disembarking in Capri- GET READY FOR SOME CRAZY ASS CROWDS, DON’T PANIC. VERY IMPORTANT (IN BOTH POSITANO AND CAPRI) USE A LUGGAGE PORTER! They will transport your luggage to hotel in the narrow streets…guess who didn’t think this through? Good thing Trent is strong and likes workouts. I kept thinking why are we the only ones with luggage up in this town? Totally ruining my look in front of Chanel, Hermes, Gucci, LV, etc. -omg the stores in this place-well done Capri.
There is a funicular you can take to/from Capri, but the cabs are super cute-open air, and we didn’t wait long.
Anacapri
EAT/DRINK/CHILL-just do it all and go here- EPIC Views and service!
Hotel Caesar Augustus – 5 stars in Capri, Official Website (caesar-augustus.com)
Do this too-cool single chair lift up to Mt. Solaro, get tickets early-long line from day trippers (don’t fret there is a bar at the top!)

Capri
STAY: Hotel Syrene
Hotel Syrene Capri 4* with Swimming Pool
Loved this intimate hotel, great pool and EPIC restaurant under the lemon trees right by pool. Great location and room had a huge terrace. They arrange for your luggage to be transported to ferry upon leaving…thank god.
PLAY: Rent a boat for an island tour…we rented for 3 hours but extended to the whole day-shocker LOL. Swum the best local caves around the island-don’t worry about the overcrowded grottos-so much more to find. Our man Antonio was great-took us to the best lunch across the water in the town of Nerano where Spaghetti alla Nerano originated, awesome, quaint beach town.
Ristorante Maria Grazia a Nerano – La tradizione degli spaghetti alla Nerano
Positano
Can be VERY crowded as well. As mentioned, drop your bags off with porter right there on dock when you get off ferry and go grab a drink at the Ristorante on your left-peach colored building and people watch. The dock is bustling to say the least. Narrow pedestrian streets to get up to the center-can be crowded- best to do after a couple cocktails IMO. MANY,MANY STEPS in this town, just pack some cute flats and comfortable shoes you will be good.
RIDE-VESPA
EPIC way to see the area, gives you some freedom to roam, so you can hit up some great restaurants and bars in the towns outside of downtown Positano. Would recommend 1-2 day rental. Most companies will deliver the Vespa to where you are staying…we used Rent a Scooter in Positano Sorrento and Amalfi Coast (positanoscooter.com)
EAT-Lunch in Praiano at a small spot that we loved-had the best service, the people and the view were AMAZING. Boutique hotel is charming! Ristorante Il Pino – Ristorante a Praiano (business.site)
Marina area-CHEZ BACK is a must. Great history, family-owned restaurant, awesome people watching we ended up here twice we liked it so much. They own amazing spots-check them ALL out! Go for drinks at Rada Bistrot on the water-this was probably our favorite find for casual day drinks in a beautiful setting.
Exclusive Amalfi Coast accommodation Positano Italy sea-view (villabohemepositano.it)
DRINK/EAT/KISS– lol-one of the most amazing hotels I have been to thus far…Il SAN PIETRO. Book a table, go early to the terrace for drinks. They have 2 restaurants; we chose the more casual one down the rocks on the water (Carlino)-which was amazing. Michelin-starred (Zass) restaurant if you want to bust out your fancy clothes…The resort as a whole is definitely worth visiting.
Restaurants & bars – Il San Pietro
To sum it up-there are so many charming places to visit I couldn’t possibly list all of them. I just wanted to give the down low on places we experienced personally. You can’t go wrong, stop in anywhere-chat it up with the locals and other tourists…meet the most EPIC people and enjoy!
